Cherokee Legend

by Deana   Aug 6, 2006

Tonight my thoughts
Will turn to you
Remember at midnight
To think of me to

My spirit will meet you
Somewhere in the air
Our hearts will be joined
Forever out there

Or so say the Cherokee
a legend of love
Written on the wind
Silently for you and me

We will walk together
Across a mountain Smokey Blue
In the early springtime
When the rhododendron bloom

We`ll wade in the creek
That's always icy cold
Speak to me of beauty
Stories yet to be told

We will watch the sunset
As it falls behind the hill
Wrap your arms around me
Against the mountain chill

Believe dreams come true
The legend says it will
If when you close your eyes tonight
You hear a whippoorwill.
