On the inside

by mimzy   Aug 7, 2006

You could pay me a nightly visit
Too young I was, when you always did
No longer can you take my innocence
You took it already when I was a little kid

You could throw words at me
No tear will drop from these hurting eyes
When pain doesn't hurt anymore
You won't get to see a little girl as she cries

You could try to chase me
What if this time I won't run?
You could strike me time after time
Never will I ask you what I have done

You could lock me up
Scream, I won't
Never again will my pain show
But on the inside, I will cry
