Your Spirit Lives On

by Pain Remains   Aug 15, 2006

It seems so strange as i look around,
And I see the world still spinning,
People continue to live their lives,
And new lives are beginning,

But it just doesn't seem fair to me,
That yours has come to an end,
We can no longer see our mum,
Our grandmother,
And our friend,

You have gone to a better place,
God has taken your hand,
But the pain inside is killing me,
It 's more than I can stand,

Your body can no longer walk with us,
To heaven your soul has gone,
But in my heart I'll keep your love,
And so your spirit lives on,

I'll treasure all our memories,
The laughs and jokes more than a few,
The times we went on holiday,
And all our Christmas's too,

You manage to show us your love,
In everything you do,
And I can say I'm so very proud,
To have had a Nan like you,

You've helped me more than you will ever know,
You've helped me to stay strong,
And I want to tell you thank you,
I've wanted to tell you for so long,

But I had a word with God today,
He said he's taken the best,
He's sorry he had to take you,
But he needed to put you to rest,

And although us left are grieving,
And our hearts have broke in two,
We know this was the best for you,
And this proves our love is true,

So now I'll say my final goodbye,
Until we meet again,
And I want you to know the love we share,
We always remain the same.
