The day my world crashed

by Dawn Ellis Cantrell   Aug 17, 2006

I'll never forget that dreadful day
When I got that call
God had taken you away
It was Sunday, Feb, twenty-sixth
A day that will never end
She told me you were gone
You've left me here all alone
I rushed over to be by your side
Hoping it was all a bad lie
There you were lying there
So peaceful sleeping comfortably
Without any pain, or anymore cares
I sat down beside you on the bed
And laid my hand upon your head
I cried out loud, No Daddy No
I am not ready for you to go
I felt a familiar hand in my hair
A voice saying Now Baby Girl
Daddy will always be there
In my mind I know you are gone
But in my heart ,
You are still going strong.
