Life In The Capital

by Bradley Peter   Aug 17, 2006

Red buses line the street
as far as the eye can see
we built a great nation
a great nation built on tea

home of the 'bad weather'
and soggy fish and chips
what else would you rather
have passing past the lips

not too good with sports
but still we love to try
home of Mr Bond
'the great British spy'

seen to be 'quite posh'
nothing's further from the truth
'init' and 'wot u on?'
if you ever wanted proof

Beckham and his wife
Elton John and Jude Law
the beautiful Miss Knightley
we've got celebs galore

the city; shades of grey
the rivers; a dirty green
a lovely little cesspool
the best I've ever seen

the great fire of London
was ours to host alone
and the grand 'Jack the Ripper'
who died, still unknown

we've got the Royal family
not to mention Mr Blair
other country's have people
who actually tend to care

the diseased flying vermin
who flock in Trafalgar square
are a symbol of our nation
who seem impossible to scare

though it has it's bad points
it has it's good ones too
the great city of London
that isn't that bad on review

I think you mean 'Elton John'
If no it was great anyway.
But these poems are lacking something you're previous work had...
    Not sure what it is
