Seconds

by Flying Phoenix   Aug 18, 2006

Silently I stare at the seconds
My watch upon my wrist
Ticking
Constantly ticking
There passes another moment
Wasted
Just by watching it
Ticking
That instant could have been
My last
But I'm still here
Everywhere pressing upon me
Decisions to make
What future to take
Yet the seconds pass
And each new time
Does not enlighten
Or show me the way
Why do I have to choose?
Decide my future?
Does anyone know
What they want to be?
Tick
And a fraction of my life
Has gone
Tick
Again
Am I supposed to wish
It all away?
Not to live for today?
Can't I just wait?
And let these choices
Choose themselves?
Why the rush?
So the seconds pass
But I can spare a few

Can't I?
