Song of the Average Man

Theres something wrong with the world today-
What exactly has happened, I cannot say.
Lack of love and kindaness in family & kin;
Embittered hatred and grudges held deep within...

Children being beated, treated with no love;
Losing hope and trust in God above.
Living lives they wish would cease-
It seams even happiness bares a lease.

Parents working at jobs that they hate
To pay bills and taxes that end up late.
Further into debt, stress builds up a stone wall
Children also suffer from this downfall...

There is a price on life, that should be high in cost.
Due to World Wars and current conditions; everyone seems lost.
Heartaches cause suicides; love affairs cast our sides-
No one really is left to trust, Humane-Kindness starts to rust.

Where have the angels\' halos gone to?
Do winged guardians no longer protect you?
Why is it appearing as no one can care?
Is our faith in living no longer there?

We live because we have to: There is no pride left in our lives.
We have grown to accept this inevitability;
We are all \"Just alive\"

Teenagers cut themselves; We seem foolish in many\'s eyes.
But are we all that ignorant, or do we see past society\'s lies?
Is it really worth living, if you must fight to even thrive?
Today\'s circumstances along, make it hard to just survive.

We are unhappy with the lives we posses
Yet we struggle to keep living in our own stress...
As we continue our lives with no future plan
We will all keep singing The Song of the Average Man.
