The Pretty Girl Suffers

by Kendra   Aug 20, 2006

Rain clouds drift across the sky
As she is sitting here still, wondering why,
2 weeks gone past without him here
Yet, no trace found of one shed tear.

Sweet 16 and looking for love
Reading love quotes and wishing on stars above,
She puts on her favorite dress
Dancing around, a beautiful mess.

Pounding rain echos in the dark
Lonely memories on her soul left their mark,
Crawling in bed, dress and all
Guard letting down, starting to fall.

Drifting to sleep, not knowing for how long
Dreaming perfectly, nothing goes wrong,
Going for comfort, her head she covers
The night whispers: &&the pretty girl suffers.
