Blanket of cold.

by Poppy   Aug 20, 2006

If I stood undressed in darkness,
I'd feel the cold wrap it's self around me,
I'm part of you, as much as your part of me,
Leaving me was never the answer.

Love is blinding, painful and strong,
I've lost all sense of self,
I'm wrapped in darkness and I feel the cold eating me,
Does your love for me change anything?

Frozen blood leaks,
The out looks bleak,
Who are you to love me so?
Who am I to lose myself?

I'm normal, I feel, I breathe,
I never understood how you could hurt me,
Leave and your just like the rest,
Lose me and you're just like me.

Secrets are best kept,
Because if you understood why I hid,
You'd not want me any longer,
You love the mask I hid behind.

I built the wall for protection,
I hid here from detection,
I'm losing myself to secrecy,
I've lost my very last breath.
