A single rose

by Dawn Ellis Cantrell   Aug 23, 2006

When I see a single rose
My eyes immediately close
I go off into a wonder land
I hear nothing but a sweet band
Playing a sad love song
Whispering that nothing is wrong
When I see a single rose
My heart grows fuller
To that special love of my life
Then everything grows quite
All I can see is his big blue eyes
Starring down at me
He's finished on earth with living
Now he is waiting patiently
In heaven with his king.
