Angel

by Thomas   Aug 23, 2006

Every night I try to dream, as I lie awake in my bed,
But I cannot sleep tonight, still thinking about what you said,
'I'll love you forever, but I'm waiting for your touch,'
Actions speak louder than words, so you know I love you as much,

My dreams cannot be dreams, if you don't appear at all,
Despite not being close to me, your name I can always recall,
You complete the puzzle, the jigsaw of my heart,
You're the final piece; you're the most important part,

I'm blinded by your smile, and lost within your kiss,
You the one I wait for, you; my one and only wish,
I love you more each day; one reason's what you bring,
Of all of my possessions, you're my only thing,

I'd wish to keep forever, until my day is no more,
I know I'd see you again; you're the angel I'm searching for,
I could close my eyes and see you; your smile brightens my path,
I could kiss you on the lips, a secret that's the wrath,

You give me everything, what anyone could desire,
From you alluring smile, to your eyes ever burning fire,
Like a rose in the sunset, our love ever growing,
I guess I knew you were an angel, without ever really knowing,

  • I use to be able to relate to this poem but,I am one of the people who have "loved and lost".I was with the guy for 2 years && out of the blue,he broke up with me.I have some poems like this when we were still together && now it hurts to read them.I just don't understand how everything could go from just great to him breaking up with me...anyways off of that && more about your poem. The word choice was fabulous && the flow was smooth. It was well written && a great read.5/5
