War at Home

by Twisted Heart   Aug 24, 2006

Our soldiers die on foreign land
Beseeched by words of hollow truce
Their bodies lie in humbled death
Mindless stirs of hidden truths.

We the people in conscience wait
Supporting those who've chose to fight
We stand proud behind the lines
Reverberating our given rights.

We display the yellow ribbons
We praise the ones who've died in vain
And we the people, point our fingers
Saying others are to blame.

We are but a worn out few
Who's questions, now, go unheard
As we travel from day to day
With angered fists and unsaid words.

We seek the stem of understanding
But wars were fought for lesser things
In strength, we rise against oppression
And cry for Freedom's ring.

Collective souls, we band together
Minute persuasions, we may be
United, we will fight our foes
Reclaiming life and Liberty.
