Game of Life

by Ms Joanna Dark   Aug 26, 2006

I've contemplated the game of life
To see if it's worth the while
But I've seen some bad weather
And I know better than this smile

I'm wearing this mask for you
So you think I'm still here living
But I'm dead behind my grin
I've got nothing left for giving

No one wants my painful burdens
Or my broken, cold, black heart
So I'm smiling just for you
But I've already fallen apart

Don't slip in my bloody mess
Glowing brightly in the moon
Just take a step right over
I promise it'll be gone soon

Use the blood to glue the mask
While making it look like fun
I'll let you think I'm still playing
And make-believe like I won
