I'm sorry I forgot to laugh,
When you told that funny joke.
Everyone else was cracking up,
And I bearly even spoke.

I'm sorry I forgot to whisper,
When we were gossiping about that girl.
Instead I yelled real loud,
And got us in the deepest trouble in the world.

I'm sorry I forgot to cry,
When your father died that day.
Everyone was hugging you,
And I didn't even know what to say.

I'm sorry I forgot to walk slower,
When everyone else ran the track.
I ran ahead of all of them,
And you stood there staring at my back.

I'm sorry I forgot to punch him,
When he told you you weren't that cute.
Everyone else stuck up for you,
And I stood back as he ate your boot.

I'm sorry I forgot to follow,
When you finally walked away.
You left me in the dust,
So I guess it's here I'll stay.
