Can You Remember?

by Ariana   Aug 29, 2006

Can you remember what it used to be like?
We'd live for the daytime and ache through the night.
Cherishing moments that could never last.
Knowing the time would duely rush past.

Can you remember how we used to feel;
words didn't stir us and time hadn't healed.
An hour of sun in a decade of pain,
a passing of pleasure to numb all our pain.

Oh - can you remember the days we would try,
to block out the memories of moments we'd cried.
And I loved you (I love you) despite all the tears,
despite the cruel realisation of the truth of our fears.

(Can you remember me?
Can you remember me?)

Can you remember the years that have gone?
Do my moist eyes still haunt you, after so long?
We're broken now, but still, in the depth of the night -
My darling - can you remember what it used to be like?

This was started about three years ago and three years ago I always wrote in rhyme so I kept the original bits I wrote and just added to it. So some of the rhymes are cheesy/forced but I don't care, haha. :)
