Hurt

by Christie   Aug 31, 2006

Rain clouds cover once more,
Only the mind to listen to,
Thoughts of deceiving yet again,
No ones said shes not listening to you.

Deaf ears yell at blind eyes seeing,
Yet still no relent of pain,
Broken heart beats with fractured legs running,
You've been let down again.

Sewn lips speak words of lies,
Preaching dark nights consuming,
Still no truth to be heard,
As all recognise death looming.

Bound to the life left behind,
Happiness seems a pointless smirk,
Reminders of love at every corner,
Separation now, only hurt.

To explain, the first three stanzas are soldiers in war. The last is the perspective of a wife at home.

If you didn't understand that poem, thats ok, thats the way I wanted it. I have left it unexplained for a long time, but I think it frustrates people to read a poem and not understand the gist of it at least. Hence this explanation. =P

Oh dear. This was very..memorable for me. It brought me back some not-so-happy-thoughts...Thank you. It reminded of my once forgotten Grandfather. How much pain he must have gone through, and how much pain we al went through. Great write. =) 5/5 xoxo
