Dont Try To Change Me

by -Ѕнэ đιεđ ѕсѓεάміηĝ-   Aug 31, 2006

Why do you turn your back on me
like I'm not important enough to listen to
but dad, why the f**k do you care
you never have or will, you know its true

you leave me alone again, but then you come back home
well next time you just stay away
i don't want to be a part of game
that you seem to play

now Ive found that special guy
who loves me more than you ever did
i know you forgot my feelings
when i was still a little kid

but the funny thing is now days dad
kids are growing up so fast
childhood is not so sacred
dollies and soldiers do not last

i thought i was really lucky, to have a dad like you
what the hell was i thinking
i should have thought before i broke my heart over you

but know i know the awful truth
you never wanted me
you lost your 1st born long ago
i was a replacement for your misery

i was your little girl
you never liked what i became
you tried to change me, it didn't work
now thinks will never be the same

  • Okay overall i thought this poem was good, I liked the way you rhymed only 2 lines of each stanza! I think you meant "Now i know" instead of "Know i know"! I happened to really like these to lines

    "childhood is not so sacred
dollies and soldiers do not last"

I liked the meaning of this poem also i can relate! Good Job 5/5!
