Guardian Angel

by Becky   Aug 31, 2006

A garden of black roses
waiting to bloom
waiting to release their dark beauty
upon my life

a crow up on the wall
filled with dark malevolence
calling to his flock
to feed upon my body
for I'll soon be gone

black clouds covering the sun
casting a darkness over the garden
preparing to let loose
their dark rivers
upon my dead body

the crows arrive
and start calling out
as the rain lets loose
the roses bloom
and the crows swoop down
I lose hope and close my eyes...

just before my eyes shut
I catch a glimpse of light
among the dark

I feel your arms lifting me up
taking me away from
the pain, the guilt, the lies, the sorrow,
the dark

you're my light amongst the dark
my guardian angel

This poem really allows the reader to have a glimpse of what you think when you write. The word choice was superb and the rhythm rocked my world. Each stanza carried its own special purpose and added so well to the text. Great write!

This was so sad and beautiful. I had to read because I have a poem called guardian angel. I really loved every word of the poem. When I first decided to read it. I thought that it would be like every other angel poem. But it was very unique. You have done another wonderful job. Keep up the wonderful work. 5/5
