Why daddy?

From birth we are taught
what is right what is wrong
but daddy
last time i checked
neglect is a crime
so why did you leave
me and mom just cried over and over
you treated me wrong
like i don't do no good
you always said
i was fat, i was ugly
cause i didn't look like sis
but you forgot the number 1 rule
every kid is different
but you treat them all fair
but i haven't seen you in 11 years
I'm 19 now you have lost
the chance to see me grow
to graduate high school
to graduate college
but thats your lost not mine
thats OK cause you see
mom and I have moved on
i have a dad that has been there
your still my father i cant change that
i can change who is my dad
cause you don't have to do nothing to be a father
but a dad you have to be there always and forever and he has so he deserves that name
i wish you would of at least tried father i wanted to know you
