Have you?

by Todd   Sep 3, 2006

Please see if you can relate my theory
Have you ever been on the down-stroke
and noticed your pen suddenly tires?
Found what is now so deplorable
Is in fact what inspires?
The bundle of pencils that kindles your fires
And feeds our gathering funeral pyres
Have you ever had this happen to you?

Touching ball point to parchment
I'm suddenly lacking in trips from the embarking
Feeling a little fatigue and disheartened
Can you explain why this ensued?
I'm inexplicably stuck or coming unglued

Normally the weapon of the conscientious hero,
Suited best to so deftly provoke
Ink is the prime choice regarding conspirers and
It's the quill that draws quarter among patriots and men-for-hire
I was beginning to enact my written ceasefire
When suddenly my nerves had become mis-wired
Have you felt this anxiety too?

"Common Sense" started it best
But first a quick ballistics test
I beg you summer soldiers to abandon your crest
