Flashback

What is that mask you wear?
I've seen you someplace before
Before I was consumed
By this so unlucky doom
Would this be your ambition in bloom,
Or flowers for your tomb?

Is this all we can say we do:
"We sit around" & "We consume"
Got to get a, get a get a clue
Change your mind
Change the channel
Pay your dues

I say we're not here to pay off our fears,
man if any manage to disbelieve a modicum of what they hear
I'll be soliciting some cheers
I beg you think abroad;
Operate near
Change your mind, change the channel, save your tears

Red Flags go up around me,
Laced with lies and matching ties
And all the explosions we so love to see.
What's say you and I
Find time to break the ties,
Say our goodbyes to

Conformity is what I say we do
When we sit around, and consume
Please get a get a get a clue
Change your mind,
Change the channel,
Pay your dues

What is that sound I hear?
I've never heard it that way before
It seems to resound not loom
Maybe earlier than I expected
But not too soon
Could it mock the perfect ending,
or am I the fool?
