The Life of a Shadow

Perhaps a shadow, is a copy of life
It will always stay by you in trouble and strife
All thats requires is a show of light
For it to be with you both day and by night
.
Your shadow is silent and makes not a sound
It can hang on a wall or lie on the ground
Always at home where ever you be
And as plain as the nose on your face to see
.
Sometimes behind you, guarding your rear
Dart's left and right but always stays near
Acts as your guide when staying out front
Or pools round your feet in the noonday sun
.
Slipping into your life at the moment of birth
Stays with you for all of your time on earth
Bound to your body ever so tight
