My Grand Adventure

by Twisted Heart   Sep 7, 2006

I jumped in the pocket
Of a hopping kangaroo
It took me to Australia
In a pink and green canoe

While traveling the outback
We saw such wondrous things
I never wanted to return
To my home again.

I didn't want to go home
Neither did the kangaroo
But once again, we got in
Our pink and green canoe.

So now we are just drifting
Upon the ocean blue
Just me in the pocket
Of this hopping kangaroo.

We saw a whale swimming
While we sailed the sea
And dolphins and the starfish
Kept us company.

We landed on an island
Where there we spent the night
We read the work of Dr. Suess
With fireflies for light.

Next morning when we woke up
Much to our dismay
The monkeys on the island
Had sailed our boat away.

So, we're stuck here on this island
But, we're happy as can be
And if you find this bottled note
Throw it back into the sea.

Don't tell my folks you found it
Because I know what they will do
They'll search until they find me
Then they'll zoo my kangaroo.
