The American Dream

by SweetQueen   Sep 7, 2006

Can't get a break
Can't seem to ease this stress
in a world with no love
No way for me to my best
world with no peace can't get a piece of the victory
lying to me
selling me a dream
Don't worry it will be OK
Sure with All work and no play
Meanwhile I cry everyday, dreams fading away
Why does it have be this way?

No jobs for the poor
can't raise up their families
the country don't want us no more
Unless we fight in war
then were heroes they love us
but once were educated they no longer trust us
But "trust us" that piece of paper goes a long way
with a long line of debt that you can never repay.
Is everything a setup is it all a lie?
Says the Dr in the hood before he got high.

We don't want to be dead we just want our souls to live,
make a name for ourselves,
we wanna raise up our kids...
if we are ever gonna make it then some thing's gotta give..
