A Meeting With My Ex-Best Friend

by Raychel   Sep 7, 2006

Sitting with my ex-bestfriend,
Looking at my pain,
Watching it bleed out,
Making puddles, as if it just rained.

Slicing away at the layers of my skin,
I cry a bit at the memories we've shared.
Somehow this little piece of metal
Used to be the only one that cared.

It hurts a little when I go to cut again,
When it used to only be so numb,
I don't really know why I stopped,
But somehow I've just always been dumb.

I wipe away a trail of blood,
And wipe away a tear.
I hope that no one knows we've reconciled,
That's the only thing I truly fear.
