Wasted Mascara Tears

by jaki   Sep 9, 2006

Stand back and take a look at your life
After 15 years, is this where you wanted to be?
The cold water pouring down over your face
With your stale reflection holding the key

Perfectly mastering the act of disguise
Keeping everyone out just to keep yourself together
Teaching the others of your secrets so dear
And your moods likely to mimic the weather

Falling so fragile, breaking your only rule
"Don't let anyone close, even if it kills me"
Your heart now dependent on the one most likely to break it
As you whisper gently, "This is not where I want to be"

You turn around and realize, the water has stopped running
And all you're left with are the wasted mascara tears.
