Not Giving In.

by Katie.   Sep 10, 2006

I refuse to give up my childhood dream,
My hope of a wonderful fantasy land.
I'm far too stubborn to give to others,
I guess they'll never really understand.

I dream about being saved by a handsome prince,
Being whisked away on a horse-drawn carriage.
Living carefree in a marvelous world,
Drawn together through love and by marriage.

I don't want to admit that it'll never happen,
I don't want my only dream to be gone.
I'm desperate for hope and love in this world,
It's the only thing I think of each dawn.

Every night I play a story through my head,
A story where I'm saved from my life.
I know in the back of my mind this won't happen,
But these stories keep me away from the knife.

I have nothing in this world besides my hope,
So I must desperately hold on with all my might.
I don't care what other people might say,
'Cause I'm not giving in without a fight.
