Love Too Late

by AngelicAngel95   Sep 12, 2006

She glances at her white-gloved hands and brings them to her face,
She wipes the tears from her cheeks and puts her arms around her waist.
The pain inside her little heart makes it crack and begin to break,
She feels as if she was seduced by the apple and the snake.

Paul promised that he loved her he swore his words were true,
He sounded so sincere when he whispered I'm so in love with you.
She gave into seduction she let him into her heart,
She thought he didn't care cos he tore it apart.

He promised that he loved her he swore that he would phone,
She waited so many nights with the feeling of alone.
She took a bottle of sleeping tablets and laid down on her bed,
She knew in a few short hours that she'll soon be dead.

She was half asleep when the machine picked up a call,
She heard the soothing voice of her darling Paul.
He said he was coming back and was calling at a booth,
A tear ran down her cheek
because he had told the truth.

"I'm sorry" she whispered "I thought you had lied"
"I love you," she wept then fell asleep and died
