Remember when...

Remember when...
Our shoes were on the wrong feet,
The highlight of the day was recess
And homework consisted of coloring.
When singing "Miss Suzy..." was a forbidden fruit,
When boys had cooties, and you needed a cootie shot
And the hardest decision was hot or cold lunch.

Flashback to now...
Our shoes match our outfits,
The best part of the day is after work
And homework takes hours and hours.
Singing when drunk should be forbidden,
Now boys are confusing and need manuals
And the hardest decision is everyone you make.

Fast forward to the future...
Will I wear mom shoes or spinster shoes?
Will I see any good in the day?
Will I still be doing homework?
Will I even remember how to sing?
Will there be any boy in my life at all?
Will I even care about making decisions?

Why do things and people have to change?
