Satan's Lair

by Twisted Heart   Sep 14, 2006

Torn winds blow against the gate
As shadows fall upon the ground
Whispered souls among the ruins
Bare false witness to the sounds.
Creeping through the misty night
Under trees with barren limbs
Comes the tattered angels song
A mournful cry that's trapped within.
Behold the seekers who have come
To lay upon the marble tombs
Flowers that have lost their scent
With scattered petals that's met their doom.
Hear not the victors of the night
Who walk upon the empty graves
That settles in the dense fog's bed
And humbly welcomes it's cold embrace.
For this, the night, that holds you captive
Inside the haunted ruins of death
Forever to beseech the master
Who's burned you with his acid breath.
Against the night, you want to hide
Among the plots you try to flee
But you are his, to do his bidding
Trapped in his clutches for eternity.
