Lovely Day

by Shai   Sep 14, 2006

It's a lovely day outside
And all I wish to do is lay here
Forget all my problems, voices all my screams
Knowing that no one is near

Bless the flowers that have bloomed
Crimson colors shining deep reds
Blowing ever so innocently in the wind
Reminding me of the bloody images in my head

Blue jays fly and swirl in the skies
Towards endless clouds and suns
Gracefully dipping and sporting wings
As another day has begun

The grass tickles my feet
Shifting side to side by a gentle breeze
Sweet bitter smell of comfort
Does not put my mind to ease

And the dear willow above me
So full of wisdom and earth of all eras and times
You give me the strength and sense of safety I want
But you do not relieve me of the fate that is mine

It is truly a lovely day outside
But in my mind it is dark and thunderous
As the sun sets in a sea of burgundy
This lovely day lays in the dust.
