You whisper words of an echo

by Emma   Sep 15, 2006

You whisper words of an echo
One from long ago
An image to be recaptured
To which I can't let go
Gentle words that linger
Within the summer breeze
The leaves have turned to crisp
And with your words you ease
A poem that's been told
Throughout these ancient years
A verse that is repeated
Now leads to all my tears
I brush away the cobwebs
From those once new words
And listen really closely
As the verse is heard
