To wish it all away

My eyes they fill with tears,
As they sting with pain,
these are the best days of our lives,
But we just sit and let them pass by.

The days we get in trouble,
and laugh about it in the end,
The days we cry because we're grounded,
And laugh because it's not the end.

Stay up all night,
Then sleep all day,
Trying to rush through life,
And in the end we'll pay.

Football games,
And boyfriend days,
Barely getting c's,
and skipping school.

Friendships are made,
And some taken away,
But in the end we realize,
The real are here to stay.

Trying to be the prettiest,
Or the coolest in school,
But after highschool ends,
no longer does the "popular" rule.

We make mistakes and cry,
And take nothing in,
A few lessons learned,
many bridges burned.

Love enters life,
And escapes in the end,
To carry on,
Names the brave.

In the end we look back,
And see what we missed on,
and learn lifes to short,
To wish it all away.
