You are too close
for me to freely breathe,
for me to dry my eyes,
for a goodbye.
You are too far
for my ruined heart to beat,
for my lonely blood to pulse,
for a smile to curve my lips.
I'll ask for nothing more
than to have your memory
remain forever
lodged,
like a blissful thorn,
in my coveting
heart.

I liked this poem, the pattern was....different? But that was part of what drew me into it. It was a very emotion felt poem. Keep it up. 5/5 =]]
