A Poem for granddad Jim

by sasha   Sep 20, 2006

He was strong and proud
Happy and Loving
He was the friendly face in a tough crowd
He was the warmth when the wind was chilling

He was a Son, Brother
A Dad and Grandfather
He was a Great Grand Pa, an Uncle
He was a Husband and a Friend to us all

He was a family man, always there
He was quiet but always cared
He loved to read and bet on horses
He loved fishing in Scottish rivers

It was his funeral today
The hearse drove slowly carrying its precious cargo
And flowers showed the love for him from others
He was cremated so his soul could fly free

His ashes will be scattered where he walked with his teenage sweetheart
His family and friends shall remember how he would laugh and when he cried
His wife, Son's and Daughter's will find their way to say goodbye
My Granddad Jim, in our hearts will never die.
