Dark

by Katlyn   Sep 22, 2006

Hidden in the dark
Hiding what I am
For all those people who look down
And say that I should change.

I sit there all alone at lunch
And watch as the others talk
And wonder what my life would be
If I were more like them

More of a prep
More of a blond.
More of everything
I don't know how to be

More of a girl
More of a cheerleader
What type of thing
Would that make me.

So I stay hidden
In this big world of ours
All alone to fend for myself
Since there is nobody around.

Just because I have to be prettier
Or more of a skank
More of something I think ranks
So what would that life be
A little plastic world

Foney
Fake
Sterile
Cheep
My world would be

So I sit here in the dark
Think of the so many ways
To go out into the light and see
What a fake world the world can be

Oh god, now the message that comes through in this poem is something that so many people need to take heed of!

    "Foney
    Fake
    Sterile
    Cheep
    My world would be"

Isn't that just how the world is turning out... it's so sad.
Great job in showing it in this piece

This is a really good poem. I could relate, but at the same time I'd rather die than be one of them, or even think of it. (LOL)

I'd like to read more by you. This is good.
