The Knife

by SeppensAngel   Sep 22, 2006

No one wanted to be around
The girl who walked the halls without a sound
No one knew about the knife
That was quietly taking away her life

She used to have lots of friends
She always had a hand to lend
Her eyes so pretty and colorful
Now they were only sorrowful

It all started about a year before
When one day she came through the door
Dressed in black from head to foot
Even her blond hair had turned to soot.

From that day on she always
Walked silently through the hallways
Never saying a word to anyone
If someone talked, she would always run

No one knew what made her so dark
Until one day someone saw a mark
A cut had been made on her wrist
She quickly covered it with her fist

But it was too late, the damage was done
They had seen what had put out the girl's sun
She had started to cut a year before
Sick of the daily school drama that seemed like a war

So she started to cut her wrists and thighs
And wore dark long sleeves in order to hide
Eventually depression took over her life
All because she picked up a knife

Please be careful that this doesn't happen to you
I know for a fact this story is true
So don't let depression take over your life
You see, I regretted picking up that knife.

Sorry that this has happened to you. I hope that you find the comfort you need to help you. Psalms 55:22 is a good scripture. Look that up and find an inner peace. Jpoet*
