The Loved

by fair weather   Sep 23, 2006

A million miles

Traveled

They were not

Always wasted

She knows

When she held his hand

He picked her up

She saw the world

From his shoulders

Time is infinite

End is definite

When he shook

She knew

Not everything

The fear of death

More fear of hate

No love for tears;

Her only friend

How to say goodbye

Lights flashed

On the ambulance

Riding

She heard no wails

A muffled world

Beyond the sound

Of fear

Her weeping soul

In a meaningless city

His body lies

Beneath the grass

His soul

Only God knows where

Memories

Dont die here

He will always be

The nurturer

The abuser

The admired

The tortured

The weak

The strong

The hated

The loved
