Hungry for Your Love

by Bill Turner   Sep 30, 2006

I am so hungry for your love
Devouring our time together
Like a condemned mans last meal
Unable to quench this appetite of mine
Drinking you in like a bottle of wine

Haunted by a feeling this is our last moment
Not knowing why the specter of death stands present
Casting a long, dark shadow over all that I do
Driving me to be a better man in my life
Wanting to give it all to you, my wife

I do not know what tomorrow will bring
If I will hold your hand and gaze into your eyes
If you will look down at me and wonder about what was
No matter, I will always be here for you
Feel it in your heart, in all that you do

Gently feed this condemned man your love
Passionately allowing me to swallow your touch
Pausing to bathe in the beverage of desire
Should my soul be nourished complete
One more day death will lie at my feet...

Great poem. Beautiful && sweet. The words you used were simply amazing. I loved how the last two lines in each stanza rhymed, that was a great added touch to the poem. [5/5]. Great job && Take care
