I am Different, Mother

by Twisted Corpse   Oct 4, 2006

Why do you always do this to me?
cant you see I want to be free?
I know you don't like the fact
that I have my own mind
But thats no excuse for what you do,
You ruin my life with ever word
that comes out of your mouth
or with every face that you make
I don't wanna be cooped up
and I don't wanna be fake,
I'm not like other girls
I wont let guys push me to do
the things I wont let them
I wont do anything I don't want to
or anything I don't feel is good
But i will do things I should,
For I am not you
You are not me
so you just need to see
how responsible and
trustworthy I can truly can be,
For I am better than what you think
I am better than how i act,
for that is a mask of a teenage girl
who just wants to live her life
so I will go
and i shall show
you that I am responsible
I am trustworthy,
I AM NOT LIKE OTHER GIRLS
I NOT WHAT YOU THINK
I am my own person
And if you cant except that
Then your not my Mother.

You've really hit the nail on the head here. So many adolesents feel this way, it's only about time that someone should write about it. Good work, I hope to see more in the future.
