Long Enough

"I've waited for you long enough"
He tells her with remorse.
He tries to act all cool and tough
As his voice is breaking, getting coarse.

He hasn't walked away yet
She notices with hope.
Everytime she tries to let
Him go she tightens up his rope.

No, she doesn't love him
That's just his sorry fate
But in highschool, it's sink or swim
And the boy she really loves already has a date.

"Oh baby please don't leave me now,
I'm just not ready yet"
And so she pulls him once again
In to her twisted, stormy net

For her, he falls so very far.
Although he knows it's pointless.
To him, she is a shooting star
And he is stuck in her promised caress.

Someday, soon, he will move on
And find a girl who loves him.
But for now he is hers
To pull apart, limb by limb.
