Lonesome Soul

by muffinhead   Oct 9, 2006

Sometimes the days go by so slow
Life isn't any fun
Oh God this I know
Why do some days seem so goddamn unfair?
You realize you're lucky, but you just don't care.

You're teased and you're laughed at
And at home, still no refrain
You're nagged and you're yelled at
Oh, life's such a shame

When will it get better?
For it must, it's a given.
Or else letter by letter
Why my whole life have I striven?

If only they knew how their words can hurt
If only they understood that their jokes are no fun
"Rip my jeans, not my heart"
Well they rip both, and I'm shunned

I go through life quietly enough
Without passion, without a voice
My days, monotonous, long, and tough
My nights, full of tears and making silent noise

My parents can't know how much it affects me
They need to think that I'm happy and strong
But slowly, so slowly, I'm beginning to see
That a life like this, is no life at all
