Your Turn To Hurt

by Chad P   Oct 5, 2006

You see it in my eyes
i'm a broken man
choking back my cries
and hiding my tears
seconds take forever
its already been years
wearing this smile
soul turning black
i'll bleed for a while
and keep living this lie
wearing this mask
wanting to die
treated like dirt
in pain for so long
its your turn to hurt
i cant take anymore
my world so dark
i can't find the door
in this prison i live
heart still beating
love left to give
may never get a chance
to share my soul
to find romance
to be happy for a day
i'd die for true love
to hear someone say
i love you - you'll be okay.
but its silent here
and so i still pay
for the stand i took
for the two words i said
as he held that book
and i made my vow
handcuffing my life
i have to break it now
we only get one shot
at this journey of life
i know it'll take a lot
to become whole again
and try once more
to remember when
i knew of bliss
and passions feel
how to get lost in a kiss
so these chains must go
before i can start over
because now i know
and i've brushed off the dirt
i've licked my wounds
and its YOUR turn to hurt.
