Last Dance

Last Dance

I know we're over
But we promised each other a dance
To dance for comfort
To dance our fears away
To dance into our own world
That we once had and knew
So very well
But pieces started falling
And reality became the horizon
The grass became brown
And our daylight became darkness
As the sun disappeared behind the clouds
We let our world mold
We've tried our best to keep it holding up
But it just crushed us
So we had to let it burn
Burn everything we had
So we had to walk out the door
That we walked in months ago
And forget the words exchanged between us
Forget the hugs and nights we spent together
Never did we dance
Never did we see how it changed us
The special night has come
I pay my way in
And hear a slow song
That begins to chime in melody to me
I look and find you
And ask "May I dance with you?"
As we started to dance
"Our" burned world flashed back at me
I felt happy
But then saddened to know
"We're" over
And this is our first
But Last Dance

    So very sad...so beautifully written..
I liked this because there were heaps of emotion in it, I really felt the pain behind the words.
