Looking Back

by xFadedxForeverx   Oct 5, 2006

Down by the lake,
Under the oak tree.
Lies a grave stone,
Of Ashley Marie.

She was only fifteen,
At the time.
All she would worry about,
Is if shed get her license at sixteen.

She was small and delicate,
With long dark brown hair.
If you needed anything ,
Shed always be there.

Straight A student,
And homecoming queen too.
Always smiling,
And remembering to please and thank you.

Everyone loved her,
And envied her so.
She was always happy,
And always had some place to go.

Sometimes it seems life was perfect,
But maybe it was just a lie.
For every night went she got home,
All shed do was cry.

No one knows why she took her own life,
On a cold winters night.
Maybe it was to tempting
That is the knife.

All we know,
It life has its twists and its turns.
And sometimes the pain,
Seems to return.

Omg that last few lines were the best, I can so relate, no matter how happy you are the pain will always return no matter what you try and do. Great poem :D
