Trying to Forget

by Midnight Sun   Oct 6, 2006

I lay here
On the bathroom floor
Tearing at these scars
That can reflect nothing of before

A tear stains my cheek
I\'ve tried so hard to forget
I thrash my nails in my flesh
As I shred my skin in all regret

If only I tore my heart
As hard as the physicality
Then maybe I could let go
Then maybe I\'d be free

These raised marks
Tell the horror of my stories
If only you knew
Me in all my \'glory\'

I must now stop
This childish tantrum
To go on pretending
And hope to find freedom

This is so not your style. What made you write this? It was well done, don't get me wrong, but not like you. Jpoet*
