A World Like This

Living in a world like this,
is it really a surprise?
Souls so desperate to escape
they'd sacrifice their lives?

Like them to death I'm driven
with a gun held in my hand.
Looking at this dismal world,
I'm ready for it to end.

Growing up surrounded by
people passing out false truths.
Media propaganda
that they're feeding to our youth.

You turn on the evening news
to hear of scandals and death
that horrifies the few of us
that still have morals left.

Forgotten kids in Africa
that go hungry everyday,
no help from richer countries
most of all the USA.

So God bless America
for the rest of us have tried.
Right now they're overseas
fighting a war based on pride.

They say they're fighting terror
just like angels with their guns.
They're at war to bring us peace
that is never going to come.

And yet when someone just like me
leaves this hateful world behind,
you all have the ignorance
to stop and question why.
