Timing

by Alex   Oct 9, 2006

There she is
Smiling
Happy
She lights the whole room
How I want to be in that spot beside her
Bask in her glow
But that spot is taken
By another guy
Who doesn't appreciate her
As much as I will
When he finally said goodbye
My heart skipped
Butterflies grew
But what do I say
What do I do
When the guy that left her
Was my best friend
It was never easy
Seeing them together
We were just Freshmen
And I was just a lonely guy
Drifting from class to class
But then he left
And summer came
She was broken
I put her together
The hugs she gives me
Break me apart
I never want this to end
Now he sees me different
I hardly speak to him
Will that someday be me?
Or will I stay here
With her
Will she stay too?
Or was my timing off?
