Waiting for the Summertime

by elvenfire   Oct 9, 2006

The rainy season has gone on forever
and puddles litter my road
took off my boots, am barefoot walkin'
to follow wherever it goes

will it lead me to redemption?
will it lend my eyes the sights?
will it grant me absolution?
will it show the dancin' lights?

baby tell me should i do this
should i dance the dance with you?
baby i am pleadin' softly
come, dance in the rain with me
let us wait for the sun together
while i whisper in your ears
all the longin' that I'm feelin'
let me brush away your tears

will i find a new direction?
will i know where i went wrong?
will i reach my aspirations?
will i see the green grass grow?

i am waitin' for the summertime
to dry up all the tears we shed
oh lord, soon let the sun come shinin'
for now, my love we're barefoot walkin'

This should be a song, amazing job. I liked this poem because from what I've been reading the past few days, it's different.
    I love your poetry, 5/5.
