Yamanote Line

by elvenfire   Oct 11, 2007

Two trains traveling
Two hearts unraveling
Along the Yamanote Line
One going home
Home to a lover waiting
One bought a bottle of wine

On the next bend, the next stop
A smile creases a face
A tear drops
The dance continues on the platform
Of the old Yamanote Line.

Do you get off this time?
Have you had enough love,
Or tears for a lifetime?
I see you push against the crowd
For another merry-go-round
Hoping to escape
The end of the line

Traveling in a wide, wide circle
Faces change, seats are taken
Life is constantly moving
While on the Yamanote Line.

Broken people, all together
Different lives, share a moment
Never really knowing each other
A moment is all there is for us

on that dear old Yamanote Line.
